High-Value Cargo Escort Checklist
Every high-value cargo escort lives or dies on preparation and documentation. Use this checklist as a baseline for your missions, then adapt it to your clients and corridors.
Before transit (pre-mission)
- Confirm the Security Escort Data Sheet is complete: order number, origin, destination, schedule, truck, trailer, and driver details.
- Verify document requirements with the client (seals, BOL, gate passes).
- Confirm escort assignment, vehicle readiness, and communications check with dispatch.
- Review the route, known risk points, and planned checkpoints.
- Verify the field app is logged in and background GPS is active.
During transit (in-mission)
- Maintain continuous live GPS tracking to the SOC.
- Log a geo-tagged checkpoint at each planned stop — photo, location, and time.
- Note any deviation, delay, or incident immediately, with a timestamp.
- Keep dispatch updated through the route channel; escalate anything unusual.
- Confirm seals remain intact at each handoff.
After transit (post-mission)
- Capture final delivery confirmation and a closing checkpoint.
- Complete all on-site fields in the data sheet.
- Confirm the chain of custody is unbroken end to end.
- Make proof of service available to the client.
Make the checklist run itself
A paper checklist is only as good as the person remembering it. With Vector, the mission record, checkpoints, and data sheet are built into the workflow — so the checklist is the system, not a clipboard. This article is part of our guide to security escort operations.
